ABOUT THE ARTIST

My name is Jack A Rosenberg, and…..

I am based in Mesa, Arizona. I enjoy making all different types, of fused glass art, from small hearts, to beautiful, unique platters, design pieces, ornaments, and miniatures. I am only limited by my own imagination. I got into my glass art, after taking a trip, to Sydney, Canada. My beautiful wife & I bought a stunning, fused glass, art piece. Unfortunately, it broke in transit to our home. The artist replaced it, but unfortunately, the same thing happened again. I asked people on Facebook, how it could be repaired. One person told me to “take a class, and make my own.” I took many classes, until the pandemic. At that time, I bought a kiln, and created a Studio, in my home. The rest is history.

You are welcome to see my glass art, by appointment, in my home studio.

I focus on many things. My “Broken Heart” Series, has been very healing to friends, loved ones, and the community. They can been created, with or without, cremations (ashes), depending on the needs and wishes of my clients. My main focus, is to create art, that touches people.

I want people to feel that they have a part of me, when they are kind enough to take a piece home with them. My glass art, starts with an idea, then I take the time to create the design (I love doing abstracts). After the design is completed, I place the creation into the kiln. My options are a full, smooth fuse, a tack, textured fuse, and, or a slumped fuse, which gives shape to my design. Kiln time ranges from approximately 12 - 30 hours, depending on my desired results.

I am partial to shades of blue, but I design using many other colors, because we all have different tastes & preferences. I work with 90 coe glass, dichroic glass, stringers, and many other materials. My work has become more detailed, over the past seven years. I still lean towards abstract designs, but lately I have been incorporating cartoons and landscapes, into my designs. I have always done cartoons, from oil pastels, for my Sons, and Grandchildren.

The biggest compliment that I received, was when the owner of the “Zonie’s Galleria, in Sedona, purchased nine of my pieces, for their clients.

It was an amazing release from my forty year career, as a Funeral Director. I was also a clown (Jelly Bean). I worked with burned, crippled dying, and abused children. I even went to Bosnia & Croatia, during their war, to entertain refugee children. I gave one little guy, his first piece of chocolate, and we ran into each other a few years ago. We are still friends.

Life offers many opportunities, to experience so many different things. I would encourage you to reach inside, and develop the passion(s), that call to you. Life is short, and we have a finite period, in which to enjoy as much as possible.
